Dear Fire Chief Gerald Bessette,
My thanks to all the dedicated men and women of your department for the quick response to a medical emergency at our home. The assessment and care given by these personnel (particularly Joe and Vic) were so professional, respectful and skillful that a potentially deadly situation turned out well. Thank all of your personnel for me for serving our community so well....It is not a lowly job at all but rather one of the highest callings to serve others.
Sincerely,
Glenice Sousa

As a little girl I was always so proud of my father serving as a firefighter for the town of Barrington. I would love to listen to his stories at dinner time on the things that happened during his 4 days on duty, whether it was putting out brush fires, rescuing a cat from a tree, a runaway rescue boat, or putting out a house fires. My heart filled with pride on Memorial Day when he would be driving the fire engine as he would pass by the home I grew up in on Maple Aveue. This Memorial Day was extra hard since my father passed this past April, 2008. I will always feel that pride when the engines pass by whether it be the parade or on route to a call. Firefighters are to be commended..they risk their lives everyday. Thanks for all you do and for this great site..You should be proud of your job and the work that you do, as I am proud of my dad Al Florenzano(Flory). Keep up the great work. P.S. A special thank you to all of the Barrington Rescue team that came out to his home on NUMEROUS calls to transport him to the hospital. He always knew he was in good hands when they showed up.
